Filled fictional excerpt · Check identifiers in a documentary case

A successful technical check does not establish the associated document’s existence or identity. Open the relevant registry record and match title, medium and version.

  2. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Verify an AI summary before using it

Remove the supplier relationship: citation does not prove a contract or supply. Seek a document supporting this exact relationship, period and parties.

  3. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Read an HTTP response without rushing to declare an outage

Do not declare completion from the acknowledgement alone. Use the documented status route and check the expected final state before closing the observation.

  4. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Document a sample before publishing a measurement

Distinguish 15 sessions from three questions. Do not report 15 independent questions or general representativeness. Define the target population and selection plan before generalising.

  5. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Check API pagination

Stop the cursor loop and retain received pages. Twenty rows represent only ten distinct identifiers here. Check continuation rules and end behaviour before declaring collection complete.

  6. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Read percentages, points and relative changes

Report +1 percentage point and +50% with their bases. A 1% increase would mean something different. Check comparable periods, populations and rate definitions before publishing.

  7. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Distinguish stocks, flows and cumulative totals

Reconciliation leaves a gap of 5. Do not rewrite a stock to force equality. Seek other movements, corrections or scope differences and retain the unexplained gap.

  8. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Check an export before opening it in a spreadsheet

The code lost leading zeros. Do not guess padding length if the field contract is missing. Restore the source value and check text type and the reopening workflow.

  9. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Check an RSS or Atom feed for monitoring

Retain the stable identifier and distinguish initial publication from update. Changed content is not necessarily a new entry. Compare identifier and content version with the previous observation before counting new items.

  10. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Measure useful AI-agent latency

Report the conditional median with both failures. Do not claim 3 s across all trials. Retain start, end, status and duration for every trial; compare matching scopes.

  11. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Document a search that finds nothing

Record no result within this scope without concluding that the entity does not exist. Test variants and identifiers, then recheck registry coverage and period.

  12. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Keep an editorial correction log

Record the correction and supporting evidence rather than silently replacing the figure. Check conclusions, derived calculations and translations using the former value.

  13. Tool

Filled fictional excerpt · Compare two sitemaps before publishing or migrating

Separate list changes from the language defect. Sitemap presence does not validate the destination. Check final response, language and canonical for every addition before closing the migration.

  14. Tool

    Exercise: Check a French company

Which file should receive the notice? Two records share a trading name but have different SIRENs. A notice concerns only the first identifier.

  15. Tool

    Exercise: Find the applicable rule

Which parameters are missing to select a version? An article is quoted in its 2024 version; the file concerns 2022 events and an unspecified territory.

  16. Tool

    Exercise: Explore a public tender

Can the overall amount be assigned to lot A? A notice describes lot A. The contextual file aggregates all purchases by the buyer without a lot identifier.

  17. Tool

Exercise: Explore a name or invention

Is the shared name enough to link the rights? The same name appears in a trademark and a patent. Owners, classes and territories differ.

  18. Tool

    Exercise: Reconstruct a web presence

Which statement can be dated to 2021? A 2021 capture displays a contact page. Domain registration information is accessed in 2025.

  19. Tool

Exercise: Locate an image or change

Which difference might come from acquisition conditions? Two images cover the same area, but one is winter imagery at low resolution and the other summer imagery at finer resolution.

  20. Tool

Exercise: Contextualise an EU research project

Which record would establish a project-specific result? A project covers 2020–2023. A national statistical series describes 2024 and contains no project identifier.

  21. Tool

Exercise: Trace a patent lead to its status

To which branch should the status finding be limited? Two publications belong to one family. One territorial branch has a status; the other has not been checked.

  22. Tool

Exercise: Compare public data before reuse

Which normalization would not be enough on its own? One resource reports 120 thousand people; another reports 150 people for a different population and year.

  23. Tool

    Exercise: Cross-check a procurement award

How many distinct notices are actually available? The same notice appears on two portals. The supplier name is shared by two companies with different identifiers.

  24. Tool

Exercise: Qualify a data protection rule

Do the three documents have the same scope? The file mixes general guidance, an individual sanction and a court decision about different facts.

How can I refine the search?
Start with the topic
Enter one or two specific terms: citation, CSV or provenance. Every word must be present, so a long sentence can exclude useful pages.
Broaden before filtering
Search all families first. Then select a guide, protocol or source according to the kind of answer you need.
Try different wording
Try a synonym or a term in the selected language. Quotes, OR and asterisks are not search operators.

DEEPER READING / PRACTICE

Turn internal search into a useful user journey

A query produces several close results. Reading should help to distinguish the need definition folder, detailed method and implementation tool.

Updated on .

Priority checks

Formulate a specific need and then try neighboring terms. Read the descriptions and select the type of resource according to the searched step: understand, run or control.

Interpretation pitfalls

The first result is not always the best document to the context. An absence can come from the vocabulary used rather than a lack of content.

Working record to retain

A short route connects a need definition page, a guide and a checklist. Maintaining unresolved questions helps to rebuild research.

PRACTICAL CASE / WORKED EXAMPLE

A natural requirement does not match the exact title

The following case illustrates an approach to defining the need. Situations are pedagogical: they serve to examine the choices and conditions of success, without describing a fulfilled mission or announcing a guaranteed result.

Example context

A reader is looking for how to check a number, while the resources use the word indicator. The results must allow to continue despite a different formulation of the title.

Suggested approach

Try the neighboring terms and read the descriptions. Differentiate methods of calculation, comparison and verification of sources. Choose the resource that corresponds to the actually sought-by-step.

Conclusion and next step

Research becomes a path of solution. The questions still open serve to clarify the next query instead of multiplying the words without clear intention.

Questions for deeper practice

How do you improve a search without losing the initial need?

Keep the starting question and then specify the object, operation and resource type. Useful results give a complementary vocabulary, but their title should not automatically replace the reader's target.

DETAILED WORKSHOP / APPLICATION

Refine a query for the task to carry out

  1. 01 / Prepare the necessary information

Describe the initial question and the desired result. Identify the object, operation and type of resource that could help: file, method or tool.

  2. 02 / Carry out the approach

Try a formulation and read the descriptions. Release the useful terms and test the variants without giving up the intention. Compare the resources found according to their contribution to the route.

  3. 03 / Examine an alternative situation

If the results are close but too general, specify the operation or scope. A well-classed page is not necessarily the one that meets the searched step.

  4. 04 / Decide on the next step

Research is useful when it leads to a resource whose response can be identified. Open questions are used to prepare for the next consultation.

  5. 05 / Hand over the verification records

Keep a short track with request, resource and supplement. The reader can restart his work without repaired the tests that have led to useful content.

ANNOTATED WORKING DOCUMENT / REVIEW GRID

A track record from a request

The note retains question, tried formulations, useful results and next resource. It distinguishes the exploration vocabulary from the initial goal of the reader.

On a small screen, scroll the grid horizontally to read all three columns.

Example situations to assess
ObservationSupported interpretationNext step
A resource responds to the desired operation. The result can serve as a useful step in the course.Keep the passage and choose the necessary supplement.
The results remain general despite the good topic. The request must specify action, object or scope.Try an appropriate formulation without losing the initial question.
The first result has the word but not the answer. The presence of the term does not prove its relevance.Read the descriptions and compare the contribution of resources.

Reviewing the working document

The final verification verifies that each step reduces an open question. A link list is not yet a useful path if the reader cannot explain what each page brings.

REPORTING / EXAMPLE WORDING

Presentation of results: Turn internal search into a useful user journey

Point to clarify

A search result must be judged according to its contribution to the searched operation.

Before handing over

Check that the track keeps the initial question despite the vocabulary variants.

Example of a qualified conclusion

The resource selected meets the described stage of the need. The questions still open guidelines the next consultation and remain distinct from the answer found.
