Sources for laws and public decisions

Retrieve the text, version and procedure while separating decisions, announcements and commentary.

Choose the right source

Set the territory and event date. Find the published text and relevant version; retain number, article and effective date. A legislative dossier explains preparation but does not alone determine the applicable rule. For a decision, read the operative part and subsequent developments.

Compare result types

Légifrance and EUR-Lex distribute texts; Vie-publique provides dossiers and reports. Court and authority decisions require attention to scope. A CNIL formal notice is not a sanction: the exact document category matters.

Reading example

A news article describes a new rule. Locate the act and distinguish adoption, publication and entry into force. Save the supporting passage rather than only a homepage or a third-party summary.
